Louis Vuitton's new pretty pastel collection for Spring Summer 2012 is to die for!

The new advertising campaign is a mouthwatering delight featuring Daria Strokous and Kati Neschercheck in 50's style candy pastel outfits and ice cream sundaes.

I'm in love.

Last weekend was Roxie Sweetheart's first time selling at the London MCM Expo- Londons biggest Comic Con with 50,000 plus people per show and a showcase of cult entertainment and popular culture; Fantasy Films & TV, Animation, Comic Books, Anime & Manga and Cosplay!

I had a very successful weekend selling with lots of positive feedback. I also had lots of fun dressing up in cute, girly lolita style outfits (my favourite bit!!) Check out my outfit for the Sunday - you can also follow my looks and profile on Lookbook.nu/roxiesweetheart

My theme was pink polka dots with a beautiful Angelic Pretty 'Milky the Fawn' dress and bag.

Happy customers bought the Fluffy Bunny Brooch and Ring and the Crystalized Lips Double Ring : )

I also previewed the new range of jewellery for Autum/Winter 2011 feautring gothic pin-up girls, dripping hearts and vampire lips! The new jewellery will be for sale in he online boutique very soon : )

Dolly Con - Bunnies, Deers and Bows! Oh My!

I had a fabulous night with the girls of Dolly Con on Friday eve!
The night started off with a huge down-poor of rain- but it soon cleared up and we certainly had lots of fun in the beautiful Dolly Dare shop on Commercial Road, London!

This was my little stall in the shop- the tables were covered in lovely pink candy stripe (much like my gift bags!) and bows too! The shop was so candy cute with pink lace and roses everywhere- plus full of beautiful french-style sexy mannequins to match their vintage style pin-up dresses and eclectic range of shoes....heaven!

Some new 'Wonderland' mirror necklaces!

We had a constant supply of Dolly Dare sweeties to keep us going! Yum!

Naz who manages/runs Dolly Dare (top left) bought and modelled some Roxie Sweetheart jewellery! She bought a few

things including the new Baby Deer Brooch!!

There also were Manga Market, Bunny De Coeur and Destiny Blue!

My Loveable Pony...

Everyone remembers My Little Ponies right?! Well, if you were born in the golden age of Hasbro toys then you will most definitely have had one, and I loved them! I was definitely more into ponies and other animal toys than dolls and Barbies...

80's toys often heavily inspire my illustrations too ❤_❤

Well today I came across some new versions of My Little Pony and I was more than delighted to find 'Pinkie Pie' - one of the Fashion range of ponies... I will always have a place in my heart for the original 80's ones but I have to say these are very cute and also very Japanese inspired too.

I also came across this cute pony designed by Tokidoki for The My Little Pony Project which is an international collection of 18” MY LITTLE PONY figures designed by popular culture’s influential people and organizations. The ponies were auctioned off for charity! Oh how I would love to get hold of one of these to customize!!!

Phew! Hyper Japan last weekend was amazing and very very busy!! It is quite amazing how quickly they have grown from only their first event last year (about a quarter of the size!).

Sweet Summer Frolics

Oooooh it's officially summer time and we all know what that means: ice creams, sunshine, the seaside, picnics, festivals... and super fun events!

This year Roxie Sweetheart will be supporting and selling at both the Asahi Anime Festival and Hyper Japan 2011!

Firstly I'm super excited about the Asahi Anime Festival on the 25th and 26th June in my favourite place ever - Brighton! The event is totally free and it's right near the beach and the funfair so lots of fun to be had : )

Crystalized Chic

I recently discovered and fell in love with a wonderful new collection from Swarovski featuring customizable charm bracelets with lots of different cute and sparkly clip on charms : )

I particularly love anything with aurora borealis crystals as they have a wonderful mesmerizing holographic/rainbow feel to them.

The collection also features a range of kawaii/japanese style charms such as the 'Erika' Charm (in photo above) which is a cute robot-character studded with AB crystals- the body of the character actually moves too!

I bought the Erika Charm, light blue crystal whale charm and the AB heart crystal charm on the silver bracelet.

I now know what I will be getting for my next birdthay/christmas's for a while!

I have just come back from a 2 week cruise sight-seeing around the Mediterranean. (Slight shock being back in the not-so-sunny UK weather!!!)

I saw so many beautiful places and architecture- including Park Guell in Barcelona by the famous Antonio Gaudi, the stunning Colleseum in Rome, The Church San Giacomo in Santa Margherita- Italy, and the pretty and quaint town of Toulon in the south of France.
I particulary adored the architecture on the traditional houses, with beautiful shuttered windows, window boxes and opulent facades.

I discovered today in the Body Shop!

The Body Shop has collaborated with The London College of Fashion to create 'Brush with Fashion' - a new exlusive make-up range comprising of an illuminating face highlighter, high-shine lip gloss and cheek tint, and two eye shadow palettes.

The stylish and fashionable collection was launched with a catwalk show, showcasing designs created by former students William Tempest and Jena. Theo. Meanwhile the products were put through their paces by another LCF graduate - make-up artist Nikki Palmer, who created the look for the show.

And not only does it look very pretty but it's also a sustainable and cruelty-free make-up range, yey!

I bought the eye-shadow palette which comes with a small eyeliner pencil and make-up brush. The colours are perfect shades if you want a contrasting dark and light eye shade.
I usually like a dark outline with white to highlight the corners of the eyes. Extend the eyeliner out for a cool, cat-like shape and add some fanned false eyelashes for a pretty geisha feel.

I have been very busy making lots of lovely pretty new pieces of jewellery : ) Here is a little sneaky peek and a few photos from my mini jewellery photo-shoot!
(jewellery coming soon to the boutique: golden heart locket, bears and bows bracelet, rainbow rain lockets, cream tea bracelet, bambi treasure necklace, vintage picture rings...)

My inspiration came from a vintage treasure trove and my recent watch of Alice in Wonderland. I still persoanlly love the original book and Disney version of the film, although Tim Burton put a wonderful sweet-yet-twisted slant on the magical story...

Little bread-and-butterflies kiss the tulips, and the sun is like a toy balloon.
There are get up in the morning glories, in the golden afternoon.
There are dizzy daffodils on the hillside, strings of violets are all in tune, Tiger lilies love the dandelions, in the golden afternoon, the golden afternoon.
There are dog and caterpillars and a copper centipede, where the lazy daisies love the very peaceful life they lead...
There's a wealth of happiness and romance, all in the golden afternoon. ...

metamorphosis under the ocean

I am currently writing a book... Here is a little taster of the text...

'ma belle serine'
The transitional state between human and sea creature.
A project inspired by life and metamorphosis under the ocean.
The bubble popped into a thousand droplets of water... and she was still floating. Her hair was long and luscious, intertwined with shells and starfish, and her feet... was a tail! Miu looked down at herself within a reflection of the giant crystal coral. It was her face... but her skin glistened, her eyes were a bright aqua blue, her hair was long and flowing, and her lower body and tail was covered in the most beautiful aurora aurora borealis scales.
I am also in the process of making a range of tote bags and t shirts featuring my illustrations... so keep an eye out! They will be going into the Roxie Sweetheart Boutique.

As you may know, I love dressing up... dresses, handbags, shoes, I'm well and truly addicted! I like to buy a range of highstreet mixed with vintage and hand-made items. The more of a bargain the better! Unfortunately my price range does not reach to designer (one day...le sigh...)

All Hallows Eve

My theme for this years Halloween was a scary doll... the sweet meets the sinister!
Yellow frilly dress with lots of layers of lace and vintage under-skirts, combined with lacey blue gloves, pink mary janes and a Hello Kitty headband.

Check out my friend Katy who went as the Queen of Hearts, with an oversized Tatty Devine heart beaded necklace and heart crochet headband made by Gemma Marissa : )

Also check out extra special nights out at the Working Mens Club in Bethnal Green. They put on an amazing night with dance shows, magic tricks, pop corn and scary frame backgrounds for your halloween pics!

this is Neurotica

As you may or may not know, I am currently on an internship with an amazing independant fashion label called Neurotica. They specialise in original illustration, print and textiles that explore the contrast between the sweet, the sinister and the beauty in the everyday.
Each item is hand printed in London and the designs for Spring/Summer 2010 have been inspired by insects and flora and fauna.

On the 9th September it was a real FASHION EMERGENCY (9/9/09) at WAR! Magazine's extra fabulous fashion show at the Double Club, Angel Tube, London, showcasing the preview of the Spring/Summer 2010 Neurotica collection.
The prints feature vines, honeycomb, bees, butterflies, butterfly wings and flowers.

It was an amazing day and evening with lots of free bubbly and the show was a definite success. Check out the photos of the models and see Neurotica's beautiful clothing at:

Ma petite sirène, her hair is flowing and entangled with seaweed and shells.

I like to combine nature and humanity, a girl who's hair transforms into an Octopus's tentacles.

After my little seaside break away from the city I feel much refreshed...

...I was surprised to stumble upon a shop called Ever After in the sweet little seaside village of Swanage, Dorset, full of goodies! To my sheer delight (which I could not hide to everyone else in the shop), lots and lots of Sanrio!!

I also discovered a fabulous treasure trove of Tarina Tarantino jewellery including the brand new Wizard of Oz themed collection.
Originally the images were illustrated (not sure if this was limited edition) and now the photographic images are used from the film.

I have yet to find the pennies to buy a piece...

*Sigh* One day...one day...
